Sally-Ann created an inspiring body of work through an exploration of new techniques using laser cutting and acryllic sheet to create a spectacular couture millinery collection which was exhibited in the 'Beauty by Design' exhibition in the National Portrait Gallery in 2016.
Shot on location at Custom House in Leith we used the faded grandeur of the building to bring texture to the images which added atmosphere and depth. Using both studio strobes and natural window light I captured the interactions of the light with the pieces as they at once created silhouettes and cast shadows which played across the models' faces.
